Pet of the Week – Nellie Null

Nellie Null was found a few weeks ago close to the area of Highway 51 and Co Rd W.  She is a Lab mix, chocolate with tan points.  Nellie, as we call her, loves to swim, is about age 3 with very clean teeth, just came out of heat, weighs a stocky 55 to 65 pounds.

She is loyal and knows to sit.  When walking her in the field to take these photos she would run around me, so happy to be free of her 10 x 20 isolation pen, yet when I called her she came on a run.  She never went farther than 50 feet and would circle back as if checking on me or worried I would turn and leave her.

Nellie is one of those “grateful dogs” who shows me respect and gratitude for her meals and any loving time I have to give her.  She will look deep in my eyes with a gentleness as if she were “my dog”.

Surely she belongs to someone and surely they miss this exceptional dog.

Nellie is kenneled with another stray female and has never shown any aggression towards that 8 month old youngster who is also grateful but full of mischief energy in that small isolation pen.

She should be great with kids and would be a good dog for an older couple too.

Nellie will be spayed next week and up for adoption for $200.  She will also receive an exam, be tested for HW, will have all her vaccinations.  Call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 to claim or adopt.
