Two kitties need a home. Yes, we are trying to adopt these two together. House kitties loved by their foster family. Black and white is the care taker for the black kitty. Here is their story: The little black kitty is a male. His name is Cowboy because his hind legs are bowed like a cowboy who grew up with his legs wrapped around a saddle and stout belly steed. This is because when Cowboy was a tiny kitten he was found in a creek. His hind legs broken. We think he was tossed in the rocks out of a moving vehicle or tossed at the bridge. We really don't know so this awful story is really speculation and I really should not speculate ... When Lori McCormick and her daughter first found Cowboy he was so terrified he would not come to them. They knew he was very young: the vet said he was about 7 weeks of age. He also looked tough, being very skinny. They came back in a couple days and he was still there. So they used smelly food and were able to catch him. I remember getting a call from Lori about this kitten. She was so upset about his condition and we both wondered how he had been hurt: was he thrown onto the rocks or broken by some other manner. So when she brought him home Buddy, the black and white stray cat from the year before, took over and nurtured this kitten. They so love each other that we are going to try and find a home for them together. $200 gets two cats, a savings of about $250 to you! Both cats have all their shots, and are altered, Feline Leukemia negative. Call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 or email at ace@clas.net.

This charming and handsome guy likes to bark, that is his hunting instinct, so he needs training to be quiet if you live in town and have neighbors with dogs. His barking at movement would be very good for someone needing a guardian in the house or yard. Wiseman's gait is so BEAUTIFUL to watch. He glides with a slightly higher step like an English style horse would. He is fun to watch move! About 45 pounds, this guy is built to be a joggers best friend. He needs a family who likes to walk their dog. I have no idea how he is with cats, but I got him because he was about to be shot for trying to get a farmer's turkeys!!! I will suggest this hunting dog would not be good with cats at large. We are unable to have him as a house dog here because he is a hunter and would possibly roam off the property. I am listing him as house broke because he only eliminates outside and along the fence line, being a very "clean" dog in a large kennel. He wants his house clean. Actual house training should be very easy with Wiseman. He had a foster for a couple days but their alpha male did not like Wiseman. Wiseman did try to mark once in the house but a firm correction and then taking him outside JUST ONCE and he did not try to do that again. This guy BONDS quickly. He loves human contact. He may display jealously for his person so we think he would be BEST as the only dog unless you are dog savvy. He HUGS me and hugged his foster family dad, kids and mom. Their son was in tears when they had to return this loving dog... I am looking for a city home with a fenced in yard, 5 -6 feet tall. GREAT with female dogs. He was good around male dogs in the yard too. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035. Adoption fee is $100. Transport assistance may be available. We adopt all over the USA.

ALWAYS give your phone number when you inquire for more information about one of our pets. You will get a faster reply to your inquiry ... DEE DOLLY DO is estimated d.o.b. 3/30/15. She was a former stray, found with a younger male pup that was very German Shepherd in appearance. They were found in the Aquilla MO area. Dolly is a playful gal, who is kenneled with an active male large Lab (Remington also may still be on our Petfinder page). They play so well and eat together, no arguments but going from each other's bowl until they finish. I believe she will be better in a home with medium to large males as she can play kind of hard. She is also a mild alpha, so I would not place her in a home with another female and no cats. She has prey drive. We treated her for Heartworms last summer. She is in great health and is a dog who enjoys to be petted.. This poor gal has been locked in a 16 x 32 pen since 9/21/17, over a YEAR! No interest in her and we are shocked... Someone please give her a home. Fenced in yard or a city home where she goes out on a leash. She is a hunter, and was found as a stray, we think lost after a storm. So she will possibly not be loyal to your property if not contained in a fence or on a leash when out. Mature weight should be 40 pounds. Adoption fee is $200. Ruth was one of seven 4 mo old pups that we accepted 7 years ago. The owners were so poor having had a child that was severely crippled, yet they had a purebred Golden Retriever female and a male Border Collie who mated and had a beautiful litter of pups. They had trouble marketing them then called us when the litter was about age 4 months. They were being kept in a chicken coop which had shade but was off a hill side which flooded when it rained. We were called to take this litter just before the 500 year flood when our area received 24 to 29" of rain in a day or two. We had tornado's, and it was a scary and disaster period. NEW volunteers Karen and Randy Sanders agreed to take three and we made room for four of the pups which were not well socialized at the time, being locked up and given little affection. After accessing the need and size of the dogs the rain started to pour. Between the storms the Sanders and I went to get the pups. They were standing in 6-8" of sloppy mud, covered in filth, having only the tops of the chicken nests for protection from the mud. We were covered in slop from head to toe, having to catch the slippery dogs and carry them out because they had no idea what a leash or collar was... Their rescue was the most memorable in my rescue history because of the condition of the dogs and the danger we went through to get them between the flooding and dangerous storms. We bathed, vetted, and loved on them, and they quickly learned to love us. We gave them all names from the Bible because their rescue was miraculous! Ruth and her brother Boaz lived with Karen and Randy and were adopted by a family in Wayne County. That family recently divorced after an illness of the wife. We were told the wife could not care for the dogs any longer and we took them back as we do require in our contract. They were outdoor dogs let in during the very hot or very cold weather. Here they are inside dogs only let out to play, exercise and potty. They have never eliminated in the house or their crate, letting us know they need out by going to the door. Mature weight is in the 60 pound area. Adoption fee is $100 for RUTH or $100 for her brother BOAZ. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. September 8 of 2017 we received a call about two Heelers between Patton and Marble Hill Missouri, laying in a ditch together. Drivers noticed them several days in a row. Finally a Good Samaritan found them in their yard and called us. One of them had a severely broken leg, which had to be amputated and he has been adopted. Many things were touching about this couple's story. PAISLEY never left MERLE'S side. She was devoted to him. Folks stepped up to help them, first being concerned about seeing them but then later when they realized Merle was injured, they called to save his life. Then they drove the pair to the vet. THEN Rachel Riley, a faithful follower, a dog trainer, and a VET TECH, called us offering to foster them. There is NO taking the prey drive out of PAISLEY. She also likes a playmate dog but they must be submissive and like to play HARD! RACHEL WROTE: "PAISLEY is a very high energy girl who would do best with lots of outside time. She gets along with other medium-large dogs and people well, but needs a home with no small animals or young children or access to chickens, ducks or rabbits. While she struggles with impulse control, she learns new tasks quickly... ...With her high energy and prey drive, she will wander if left out unconfined so a fenced in area would be best so she can run safely. Don't be fooled by her rambunctious nature, she is still a cuddle bug. Her favorite place to be is on the couch with you or at your feet." Rachel said that Paisley would have accidents in her crate. So we suggest you feed a really good food like NUTRO LAMB and RICE, also offering vegetables like green beans, cabbage, broccoli, or carrots to help her have a 12 hour schedule and to feed 1.5 to 1.75 cups of food twice daily. Please no water before crating long periods. Have a tight feeding schedule and use her food for training treats. Train her at meal time so she is fed on a schedule which includes her treats. A dog needs to urinate 45 to 60 minutes after drinking. So manage the water before crating. With her well insulated coat she is a good candidate to be an outdoor dog during the day and must have a fenced in yard or she stays here if loose outside. Mature weight is between 40-45 pounds. Adoption fee is reduced to $200. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Please leave your telephone if you send us a request to adopt so I can contact you! TRACY REMINGTON is looking for an active owner who is dog savvy. This guy is SMART but also driven with a curious temperament. He wants to see and needs to know...What is that over there??? All the pups from his litter looked like purebred Labs except for that white on almost all of them...just a little... Mom was a solid black Lab looking gal, a PG stray from the Glenn Allen area of Missouri. So his blood history is unknown. Would he make a good hunting dog? I have NO idea. He is a guy who will run and have fun. So a fenced in yard is a must. NOT a couch potato. This guy would LOVE a family who likes to bike or job. Walks a must to keep him happy. CATO Is part of the EPIC PALS PROGRAM where she is being trained by kids to do the basic commands. She is not very food motivated but responds to love and affection. She was found as a STRAY and after the Good Samaritan caught her and took photos she would not come up to strangers again until we live trapped her a month later, when I finally got room to take her. She was fed all that while by the property owners and us. She acted dull, like she had no life. WE BELIEVE that she had been loved by and elderly person who may have died or gone into a nursing home. We can't explain how she is house broke, super sweet, no aggression tendencies and yet she was so blank, so dull for a few weeks while here. Tail hung straight down for about a week and a half. FINALLY she wagged it one day when I walked up to her. That was the beginning a real transition in her personality to the positive, My husband wanted me to keep this gal, and we both love her THAT MUCH! But we don't need another dog and she would be much happier in a quieter home than our crazy rescue camp. Not a dog to be put under a great deal of stress. If you have wild kids and or a lot of very young kids, NO kids who like to be loud... don't call for this gal . . You would make her life miserable. Mature weight should be 18 pounds. This gal came to us this summer starved, with a severely broken hind leg. We learned who her owner was but when I contacted authorities, to my knowledge, nothing was done. She now runs fast and freely without her leg bothering her. We named Pamela after her savior. This gal was found by a St. Louis area gal whose mom lived where this stray was found. Pam got online to find our number and because she had a broken leg, even being full, we took this pup in. When Pamela first came here she was a submissive-pee dog being worried we were going to beat her. Her behavior, her body language, was becoming of such a dog. A real submissive dog with this issue is harder to train out of the ducking and peeing, and her "ducking" was indicative of overreach by previous "care takers", not that she is genetically wimpy. So her submissive behavior is due to previous care being heavy handed. When on a leash she cowers down in a worried state as you will see in all photos while on leash. Those photos taken in the field and when she is "free" show happy character. Because she has such a short coat we only have one pen she can be kept in which has heated dog houses. She is kenneled with Boston Terrier mix LILY, her weight, and a male named WISEMAN who is a Mountain Cur. She must be kenneled in a pen while here because she won't stay home. She is a hunter, a runner. We will only adopt her to a city home where she will be kept on a leash. Pamela is best in a home with male dogs of medium to large size. She is coming a year of age, weight is about 35-40 pounds. We were told she is a Rat Terrier and Pit mix. We "see" the Rat Terrier but am unsure of the Pit, so suspect one parent may have been a pit type mix, even boxer with her color and size, frame/build. Adoption fee is $100. a steal for a dog we have over $700 in vetting bills. We had received some money in a fund-raising attempt to help pay her bills. Call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 to adopt. He was GREAT with our alpha and dogs when here a short time, but does not like two forward males at his foster's home. So he is best in a home with a female dog. Dandy Logan loves to play in the mud and water. This poor guy in in an outdoor kennel, albeit a 48 x 25 size, but when loose he wants to hunt and play in the dirt...so for his safety from coyotes and the road at the end of our very long driveway, he is stuck outside... What a shame............ BEAUTIFUL dog when cleaned up, but it is hard to get a good photo of him until he runs out some of the "caged up energy", so these are the best I have at the moment... Sorry! ! ! SWEET temperament, a bit reserved, for a few seconds, he was one of five pups we took this summer after being abandoned, then taken to a vet office in Butler County. We have NO clue of true identity genetically, so we guess Schnauzer and Lab according to the other pups. He also has two sisters who have smooth coats and look Lab and Rat Terrier (Shelby still needs to be adopted). One sister looks like him is already adopted. He needs a dog savvy family. Leash work just started and he is scared of the leash... So he is needing work. Mature weight at about 40 to 45 pounds. Adoption fee is $250. Mature weight about 50 pounds of PURE MUSCLE. Purebred Blue Heeler BLUE was found as a stray after being hit by a vehicle. His last photo shows the injuries from broken skin which quickly healed. All other photos are from about three weeks later. We posted Blue on Petfinder and would learn his whole story... As a young dog he was also hit and had a fracture to the hip. So that explained his slight limp in the back. He had been purchased by a cattle rancher in the area and was considered worthless after that, so an employee took him. Blue LOVED him and went everywhere with the employee, including to work. When the employee left and got a different job he felt bad for Blue and gave him to his uncle who was disabled and who wanted Blue as a companion. That was when Blue got hit a second time and was found by the Caldwell family, who called the vet and then the vet called us to help this "stray" who was loosing weight, apparently lost and injured. I met Blue that day at the vet's office and found him to be a dog with an amazing temperament. All that pain and he knew not a stranger... Blue has a thing for chasing vehicles so he needs a fenced in yard OR a home where he is put on a leash when taken out for a walk. His country days are OVER! He needs a home where he can be the center of attention. He is 4-5 years of age. Adoption fee is $200. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Six photos: first four are recent. Last two were the day after he was found, very thin during a hard cold spell. Poor guy had really suffered as a stray. Mature weight is around 50 pounds. Age estimated at 2 years. Adoption fee is $200. ALBERT BOSCO was found by the Albertson family along Hwy 34, east of Marble Hill Missouri. He is lucky to be alive. Mature weight should be 25-30 pounds Adoption fee is $FREE. Meet APPLE, a Beagle, Dachshund, German Shepherd mix also possibly with some Chihuahua in there somewhere. He has finer bone and resembles a mini German Shepherd mix. He was one of 21 dogs we rescued from a family in Puxico lin 2018 which had been covered in fleas and ringworm and the poor babies were skin on bones. We had been called for two reasons by his disabled owners: dog food and could we help find them homes for many dogs. I brought dewormer with me too. This pup was about 4-months of age when I first met the group. I would meet them again in a couple weeks to give shots and each got a NEXGARD for fleas and ticks. Like a miracle, the single dose of NEXGARD also healed the dogs from the ringworm, which I had earlier confirmed with a test. Even though not handled a lot they were non-the-less human friendly. Apple is the main alpha of the group. He appreciates love but still acts like it is a game for me to catch him, then submits and especially loves treats hand fed. High food motivation in this group. I am looking for dog savvy owners for these siblings which are all listed on our Petfinder site. He will do well alone or with a larger female. Requires a fenced in yard or a home in the city where he is on a leash. $ FREE to adopt. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Tucker was a stray in Stoddard County, rural Puxico MO, near the Mingo Wildlife Park. He is a true Dachshund by heart, liking to dig his bedding before taking a nap. He as a strong hunting drive for the bunnies and squirrels too. He is a HOOT of a dog, showing so much personality. He is a talker, and can be a barker, but the squirt bottle works wonders. When he came he could have cared less about us. We fed him, and he "expected that", but now he has come to love us and even though he is not a mushy guy, he loves to be near us on the couch and feels a need to check up on what my husband is doing then what I am doing. Very reliable as a house-broken dog, but he still acts like an intact male around new females (mounting to annoy them). If they will spank him he says, "OK OK I GET IT! I will behave. He may be too active for young children. I suggest this guy be the dog for an 8-10 year old or for a young man or woman who wants a playful dog with personality. He had heartworms which we have treated. We LOVE THIS GUY! Mr. Personality! Adoption fee is $250. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Meet BOBBIE BEE: Age about 18-24 months, she is extra sweet and well mannered AT about 35 pounds, this gal will stand and wave for attention and to please me... She will even do circles on her hind feet. She is not demanding, not needy, but simply a sweet, sweet gal that was a stray, not claimed, hard as we tried to find the owner. She is slightly submissive so it took a good while for her to feel comfortable being watched to take photos. That surprised me as she is outgoing, bubbly when I enter her kennel. She is kenneled with four other dogs, one is another female. She is a mild alpha and so I do not suggest her with a cat and other dogs should be on the submissive side or extra large as she seems to not feel the need to boss larger dogs. Adoption fee is $250. This white and tan dog was named RED by foster mom Paige Westrich's child. This guy may always have a sneeze or discharge. We are unsure. A BULLET was shot through his muzzle and the 22 caliber is lodged between his jaw as seen in the last photo. An unknown caller told us that Red liked fresh chicken, probably why this stray was shot. Odd how good he is with cats. Red's temperament is SO Loving and sweet and he is playful with other dogs. Loves kids... Looking for a wonderful home for this 12-18 month old handsome boy. Special needs are: dry eye and flea allergies. Age 5-7. Excellent about taking eye meds and cleaning his eyes. Excellent about grooming with a clipper. He feels so important when I dress him in a jacket. He dances at supper time, when we come in from outside, or if he thinks I am going to give him a treat. HIGH food motivation. He will play with other dogs. Very good on a leash or in the crate, loose in the house because he is house trained. Someone loved this pooch. Then someone else dumped him… We are SO in love with Audi Murphy! He was a stray found dumped on Hwy 51, standing in the middle of the road with his eyes covered in dry mucus, body almost naked and covered in fleas. He was a mess! SEE PHOTO #6 to show the day found and flea cover, loss of fur then too. We feel his owner probably died or went to a nursing home, kids probably got the dog and did not want the responsibility to care for him. Now we need a family who can afford to care for him properly. Dry eye can be a product of something else, like flea allergies, causing a chain reaction. His lack of care, seemingly long term lack of care, could have lead to the dry eye. SEE notes in this page about his special needs. AUDI MURPHY knows the routine and from the very beginning just sits there and lifts his head ready for me to make him feel better.. I can provide his adopter with the eye meds he needs at cost so long as they pay us for them because we are a poor and small rescue who can’t afford to keep up with the monthly costs. He will cost us $100 to $150 a month with meds at cost at the current rate we apply the salve and dry eye drops. It would be better if this guy lived in the city where there is less dust and tall grass. The kind of natural stuff that can irritate a dog with dry eye. Photos of him when first found. We did give him a steroid shot to stop the irritation from being covered in fleas and right away peach fuzz started to grow on his tail and body. Adoption fee is $300 which will cover his dental and eye salve (meds) which will go with him at adoption. Call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 between 9:30am to 9:30pm Central Time. Mature weight around 40 pounds. Adoption fee is $250. SWEETHEART can be reserved like many Border Collies are. She is great on a leash, sits, but is slow to come to a stranger, not at all aggressive around strangers and she especially likes small kids. Sweetheart was owned by a man from Poplar Bluff and we were told she is a "high dollar papered purebred Border Collie." She had to be live trapped because one day when the owner brought her to his dad's little country home, Sweetheart ran off and would not allow them to catch her again. Several months went by, she came into heat and was bred by two males, so a neighbor called us, asking to catch her. We live trapped her in about 40 minutes. Owners did not want her back. Turned out she did not conceive and she is spayed and ready for adoption. She was easy for us to build up trust. She needs a home that has good natured dogs or she will spank them pretty hard if small and she does not care for two dogs here which are both hounds. I guess she feels she is "above them." crate trained house trained leash and will do basic commands Sings when happy or when I sing to her! Mature weight should be 85-95 pounds CALL ME to get quicker response to adopt. IF you send an email always give your phone number because prefer to talk to you, not write to you. Adoption fee is $250. Oh Henry was a stray with his sister who looked very Border Collie with Great Pyrenees so, who knows for sure the mix of Mr. OH HENRY ! The two youngsters were dumped next to an area that had several homes close together. All the "neighbors" were relatives, so one day one family called me. Two days later another family called, then another and finally Brenda, whose husband is Henry, called and put the two pups in a pen to secure their safety. We were finally able to make room in a few days. Because they have a nomadic nature to them Oh Henry has remained locked up so he won't stray or run off with other pets from us following. He needs a fenced in yard or a home with will give him plenty of walks on a leash. Don't call me if you want a loose farm dog. It is not going to happen with this guy. His sister Brenda is doing great in her home, on a leash. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Mature weight should be 90-100 pounds. Adoption fee is $250. We have no idea how he will be with livestock. We did not say "good with children" because at this time he likes to jump up and gets so happy to have company and needs to learn manners. Looking for dog savvy owners who will take this guy into obedience classes. He is like a huge GOOGY cartoon character. Really excited to see any humans, but will knock down the weak ones. He has been ok around other dogs but we have not let him loose in the yard with the other dogs. ARROWHEAD was a stray for months seen around the Arrowhead campgrounds. Finally when he was FULL of worms and actually dying from starvation. He and the female Husky he was with came into the campgrounds looking for help. Independent until that time... We received the call and moved dogs around to open an isolation pen. They have been stuck in the same pen since, a 10 x 20, but are happy as they are fed daily and really tolerate loosing their freedom well. They are a BONDED PAIR. We hope we can adopt them together and will with a $100 deduction in the double adoption fee if you take them both. MUST have a high fenced-in yard and have a dog savvy family. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Please leave your telephone if you send us a request to adopt so I can contact you! Adoption fee is $400 for the pair or $250 each. Mature weight for the grey female is 55 pounds. Mature weight should be 80- 90 pounds for the red male. We have no idea how they will be with livestock. We did not say "good with children" because at this time he likes to jump up and gets so happy to have company and needs to learn manners. Four Lab mix pups: one male brindle pup from that litter is pictured at 16 weeks of age and READY for adoption Meet Mr. Fred Rogers, a wonderful neighbor, a wonderful human, who is played by Tom Hanks in a movie called "It's A Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood', coming out in time for Thanksgiving. This wonderful male should be appreciated by his new owner and everyone in the neighborhood! Therapy quality, this guy is super smart and a devoted friend, hanging out with me but not needy. He is bossy during meal time to his litter mates but other than that, I have never seen him show aggression to his mates. His litter of 5 pups were dumped on our county road 9-5-19, legs and butt covered in ringworm, fur burnt off from possibly sitting in feces and urine too. Four Lab mix pups: one tri-color female pup from that litter is pictured at 16 weeks of age and READY for adoption Meet SPLASH, named after a movie that starred TOM HANKS. This gal IS a SPLASH of color and has a glowing temperament. She is the most serious "thinker" in the group. Quietly observes, and when loose for the first time, she was not at all reserved about having freedom! She kept up with the others running in happy circles. This wonderful female is smart and gently takes treats, just like her siblings all do. They are all food motivated and should be easy to train. She is the alpha female but a MILD alpha, more of a middle of the road in her pack. Otherwise we give a $50 refund with proof of spay at 5 to 6 mo of age. Four Lab mix pups: one female black pup from that litter is pictured at 16 weeks of age and READY for adoption Meet CAST AWAY, a fitting Petfinder name, for one of the really nice pups that were cast away like garbage on our county road. CAST AWAY's litter mates are all named after star movies which TOM HANKS had a leading role. This wonderful female should be appreciated by her new owner because she is especially sweet. She is the runt of the litter but avoids any conflicts at dinner time, always running around the filled pan in a circle or two before jumping in. I have talked to a few callers about her as a bundle of MUSHY LOVE. Mature weight should be 45 pound area, maybe 50 pounds tops. Adoption fee is $150. RHONDA was one of two dogs living on top of Hwy 34, west of Marble Hill MO. We had several calls about them. We learned where they lived and contacted the owner. The girls were in danger and very thin, running because they needed to eat and they loved the neighborhood kids. They did not want the youngsters. We had no room for them so I took photos and posted on FB to try and find a rescue with room. Everyone was full. No one offered to help. About a week later I received a call that the other sister had been struck by a vehicle and was severely injured. I picked up both gals, even without room, and met another group who took the injured pup. That meant I had to squeeze dogs together to make room. Rhonda has been vetted and spayed. She is Heartworm negative and ready for a home now. WE have had her about 6 weeks and now that she looks GREAT, has a medium length coat with a tan under color coat. Soon after these photos were taken BOTH EARS have started to stand up! CUTE gal, playful who can be a bit hard on pups or smaller dogs, so she is BEST in a home with older kids, age 8 and older, and best with one dog, preferably a large male. She is with up to 22 dogs at a time in our yard, but I catch her playing way too hard on submissive dogs, male or female so as she matures she needs a good match to "grow up" with her. Pretty good on a leash, crate trained and she does not tear up bedding like some youngsters do. She appreciates all we do for her. Likes toys however. Never soiled in her crate. She should be pretty easy to house break. We have way too many dogs here to house train at the moment. Several are special needs too. That is why RHONDA’S adoption fee is so reasonable: dark color and we are in need of space. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Please leave your telephone if you send us a request to adopt so I can contact you! (:>)) We may be able to help with transport. We ship all over the USA. Mature weight should be 60 to 75 pounds. Adoption fee is $150. We offer a $50 refund with proof of neuter. IF neutered by the time he is adopted there will be no refund. We do not neuter large breed males until age 8-10 months so they can maintain a slow natural growth and fill out properly. Hormones allow better bone and joint development for large breed males. BIG MAC was a stray, found fairly thin as seen in the full body photo, side profile. His ears are ever so slightly longer than a full blood Lab, also flap, and his muzzle has the typical "bump" of a Hound, so we are guessing he has about 1/4 or less Hound. He acts very Lab however. Playful and he loves having a dog playmate. This guy should be a good pet with kids age 8 and up. He was very easy to tether and take photos, saying he was very tolerant of strangers and strange stuff. To adopt call Marilyn at 573-722-3035 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Mature weight about 60 plus pounds. Age estimated at 5-6 years. Adoption fee is $150. To adopt call PAIGE at 573-579-1925. TEDDY TWO loves to hunt, nose to the ground. We think that is why he was found as a stray. The property he ended up was not dog friendly. The landlord wanted this handsome stray shot. The renter called me, saying he was "drunk trying to build up the confidence to shoot this stray." I begged and he sent me a photo so I posted his story and hoped for a foster if an owner did not quickly answer our post. Thankfully a gal who lived in the area agreed to pick him up foster him. We have had several dogs in our rescue this year that had been shot and are thankful this good-natured dog was spared... Paige says that TEDDY TWO is a very loving dog who appreciates attention. He will need a fenced in yard or have a family who keeps their dogs on a leash to walk them (because he is intoxicated by bunny scent). Very good with dogs, but he has never been around kids while in her care. He does not like conflict so if the dogs play too hard he moves to the outskirts to let them play alone. Good traveler. Fully vetted, Heartworm negative. To adopt call PAIGE at 573-579-1925 from 9:30am to 9:30pm CENTRAL TIME. Please leave your telephone if you send us a request to adopt so I can contact you!
